Breathe Battery Technologies builds physics-based battery software: cell design and discovery, cell-level simulation and degradation modelling, and adaptive charging firmware. Its tools let OEMs and device makers validate cells through simulation and control charging in real time, improving first-life performance and shortening development cycles. Spun out of Imperial College London in 2019, headquartered in London.
BYK-Chemie GmbH
BYK-Chemie supplies specialty additives and measuring instruments for lithium-ion battery manufacturing. The portfolio covers electrode slurries and ceramic-coated separators: wetting and dispersing additives for conductive carbons, surface additives for substrate wetting, defoamers, rheology modifiers and binders. Headquartered in Wesel, Germany.

PEM Motion is an engineering and business consultancy for e-mobility with a focus on battery systems, covering technology assessment, engineering, validation and industrialised production across the battery value chain, alongside electric drives, fuel cells and heavy-duty electrification. It also runs an innovation ecosystem that includes PEM Volterra for battery testing and validation. Founded in 2014 as a spin-off from RWTH Aachen University.

XLGisi provides engineering services across technology and innovation, materials testing and design engineering. Its materials-testing and design work applies directly to battery development. Founded in 2021 and based in Waiblingen-Hohenacker near Stuttgart.
